PLEASE EDIT! my essay..dont know how to end it?

grammar mistakes? Jem, Scout, and Atticus Would you find it a little strange if children were to call their parents by their first names, as opposed to addressing them as "dad", or "mom"? In the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, six year old Scout and her nine year old brother Jem have a different way of expressing their love toward their father. They choose to call their father by his first name, Atticus, rather than "dad". At one point when Scout talked to her teacher she stated, "Atticus ain’t got time to teach me anything," (17). Instead of saying "my father", she called him by his first name. Perhaps it is a way their father taught them. Atticus was a well respected lawyer in Maycomb; he tried to demonstrate strong qualities to both Jem and Scout. Atticus would not tolerate racism, so he tried his best to prevent his children from doing it," Don’t say ‘******’, Scout" (75). He also did not like the fact of people tormenting other people, so he would always teach Scout and Jem lessons. Like the time when Jem was writing a letter to Mr.Raddley," I’m going to tell you something and tell you one time: stop tormenting that man," (49). That is why Jem and Scout are growing up to be really great children, because their father shows them how to be respectful in every way. Although neither Scout nor Jem act affectionate towards their father, they love him very much because of how much he teaches them. Atticus tries his best to help his children be good people, and that is really important in life. It is really important not to be racist, and be cruel to other people. It is very helpful to have great manners, and Attics shows them exactly how to achieve that way in life.

Last paragraph:It is really important not to be racist and cruel to other people. Also, it is very helpful to have great manners and Attics shows them exactly how to achieve that in life.Or Attics shows them exactly how to achieve that way of life. (The first is better, but you can use the second).
